This is because you're turning up the tweeter. This little speaker only produces high frequencies which is good if you want a little extra bite, too much and you'll get hiss and noise which wouldn't normally be produced by your bass speakers. Probably not the best explanation, but simply put - just turn it down.
Members georgestrings
It's only reproducing noise that is already present in your signal chain that you wouldn't even hear, if you didn't have a tweeter... I use the same cab, paired up with a 210TVX, and get good results with the tweeter levels both set between 1-3... if you feel you need more high end with those settings, EQ it in at the amp... - georgestrings
Members MrJoshua
I turn my 210TX tweeter down entirely. I don't like those bullet tweeters in general. They just seem to add pointless clank.

I usually turn mine up 'til it gets clanky, like you're saying - then back it down 'til I lose the clank, but still keep some high end definition and bite - which usually ends up between 1-3 on the dial, depending on the surroundings... - georgestrings

Members wades_keys
I've got a possibly dumb question on the "L-Pad" tweeter control found on cabs such as my Ampeg 4x10. Do those work in the same fashion as a volume control? In other words, does turning it clockwise increase the level of the tweeter? The markings on it seem somewhat - odd....Infinity is indicated when the control is fully counterclockwise....
