Members Diesel7988
Are active pickups supposed to buzz a lot? Is there any way to combat this? The only way to eliminate the buzz on my bass is by putting the pickup selector in the middle, which just means the two are out of phase with eachother. Either pickup alone is useless. If they're single coils/J pickups, you'll always have hum. That's why there are... humbuckers.
Members 1960LesPaul
Sounds to me you have something wrong. I have EMG's in my Jazz with the BTC system and it is quiet. Plus the middle position should be a combo of both and not out of phase.
Members Death Hands
well, no, because if they're both turned all the way up, then it knocks one out of phase a tad. It shouldn't be audible, unless you have a really picky ear. Shielding and grounding also help/harm.
