Members James Hart
for a new bolt-on? bolt-on neck construction has ZERO to do with value / cost. I've owned and gigged bolt, set and thru necks of all price ranges... my current basses (all keepers that I ordered custom to my specs) are all bolt necks. I prefer the bolt neck construction style over the others. FWIW, IMO/E & YMMV

I've since acquired about as well IMHO as you can make a bolt-on instrument, and it's just wonderful. Spector Euro's, Tobiases and maybe a Modulus TBX are the only neck-thru's I realy GAS for anymore.

Members Phantasm
I'm tempted to ask Mike Tobias if he'd fret the fretless 6 if I'd buy it. But then again, too many strings... and I've already got a 5-string version.
Members Hopi
After playing my fretless exclusively for the past few months, I can see where the Novax/Dingwall/M.C. Escher fanned-fretboard makes sense.
Members lonerstoenr
Apparently they aren't that hard to get used to, almost everyone that's bought one has found the fanned frets a lot easier than first expected. Having not tried one I've on;y got hearsay to go on though!

Chords aren't exactly easy, so it really depends on your style. Although I'll be very excited to get another one someday!
Members 82Daion
From having played a Dingwall, it only takes a couple minutes to get used to the frets, and the B-string is incredible. I like the Super J, but that route in the headstock kills it for me-it looks like the cross-section of an alimentary canal.
