After all of that raving about my P bass....

It's kind of weird that one bass sounds better at practice, while the other sounds good at a gig.

 

 

Not at all... I find this all the time, depending on the band mix, room, amp, etc...

 

My Jaguar was a great case in point. Fantastic playing bass, sounded great in rehearsal with either band at the time, but never 'sat' right on the gig no matter how hard I tried...

 

What's weird to me are basses that don't really grab me at a rehearsal that absolutely kill on the gig... Dano Longhorn comes to mind!

Well, it caught me off guard because everyone here was telling me how perfect P basses sit in a rock mix.......:cop: And it did.....at rehersal.

 

I suppose this is a good example of don't take everything you read on the internet to heart.......go out there and try things yourself. :thu:

 

It's amazing how much a PA system can shift your tone.

 

I actually ended up using the P for a few songs, but I had to crank the tone control way back.:mad:
