Why no emails?

Have they been there for a while and I am just way behind?

I went in today and they were just cracking a 55-02 outta the box, nearly {censored} myself, wouldn't let me play one though for some bull {censored} reason, I'll be going back tommorow though.

Tease...

 I was going to erase my post after I read it again.

Let me see... we talked about the new Plek machine they have (http://www.lakland.com/plek.htm), which is one of the reasons they are now able to supply Guitar Center with the quantity of basses they need for their stores.

There may be some change in the origin of Skyline basses. When I see information in public (I can't find any yet) I will post more about it.

I'm glad I no longer need to keep quiet about this. It is a new development. There are other new developments that I'll keep quiet about until they occur.

Have you ever seen or played a Lakland Shoreline when you visited them?

They're made by ESP in Japan and apparently pretty damn nice. Pricewise they fall between the Skyline and USA but they're made to the same spec as the USA.

I was looking at one a while back, used basses and guitars are plentiful in Japan and theres bargains to be had.

Never seen one in person, but I know all about them. Since they don't come through the Lakland shop, I don't really have any reasonable chance of running into one unless by coincidence.

I wouldn't shy away from a Shoreline, but my personal preference is for basses that pass through the shop down the street from my house. If I ever have an issue, I can walk it over to them and get it taken care of at the source. :)

I played an American fretless four string and I fell in love. I went to go pull the trigger and it was gone. That is one nice bass, much nicer than my Skyline and my 55-01 is a nice bass.

I didnt even think about that!

I can finally A-B a Lakland and MIA Fender

while I want to love that....I just can't get into the finish. I dig naturals though. I'm sure it's lovely to play....
