Members theglove
Only thing, I'm not sure what it is. I'm guessing it's a squire or something. The headstock has a aftermarket Fender decal. The guy who sold it said he bought it used and just added the pickups. Which are quite nice. They're active Seymour Duncans, but other than that I don't know. He said they were pretty old. But man do they thump. I haven't been able to come up with any info on them online, so I'm hoping someone(kindness) could help me with that. Each pickup has three tiny switches on them. I tried to get them to show in the pics. Each switch has writing as well. In order they read 1,2,3. On the switch 1 there is an o underneath. On switch 2 there is an n. Switch 3 is blank. The wiring job looks really nice, over all it's done very well. The neck is great. I was very surprized. It has a Jazz profile. I wasn't looking to buy a squire, even though from reading on here alot of people like them. The neck was really straight and the action was perfect. I think the finish was redone. It's kind of orange pealed, if that's the correct term. All in all, I'm happy with it. I figured I'll throw a gotoh bridge on it, as well as maybe some new tuners. ' alt='>'> Your probably asking now,"Ok, what did it cost?" In the add he was asking $250obo. Since I was kind of dissappointed that it wasn't authentic(at least to my knowledge), I asked what he would take for it and he said $200. Done. I think it was a good deal. He made the offer, I didn't feal like I was lowballing him. It played really well. So any info you forumites could provide would be appreciated. Members Bryan316
#1 - Any construction flaws? Neck join, bridge mount, electronics cavity? #2 - Any intonation/fret problems? Anything you'd need a guitar tech to fix for you? #3 - All electronics working properly? Tight non-crackling pots and output jack? #4 - Balanced well? Feels good in your hands? Sometimes, it really doesn't matter if it's MIM or MIJ or MIA or MIGarage, as long as it sounds and plays well, and is structurally secure and stable. Members Renfield
Those are Duncans from the earlier to mid 90's IIRC. The dip switches are for voicing of some fashion. I don't remember much about the specifics, but they should be pretty good pups all the same. Sounds like a good deal to me, if you like it, its tone and are happy, then it is a great deal. The electronics cavity is clean, not sheilded, but there wasn't any buzz or anything when I plugged it in. Also, the body looked like it was made for a battery. The cavity is pretty big. All the solder joints look proffesional and clean. The bridge is just your standard fender metal L. However I just ordered a Gotoh 201 from warmoth to put on.#2 - Seems like it intonates fine. Plays like butter. I was very pleasantly surprised. Maybe the edges of the frets could be filed, but I doubt I'll have that done. They don't hinder my playing in any way.#3 - See answer 1. The pots are nice and tight, no crackling at all. And the output jack is tight as well. Could almost be a little looser. Takes a good push to get the cord in.#4 - It seems on the lighter side, but other than that, it feels really nice.My current bass is a Stingray, so obviously they are night and day. Seems like I can fly up and down this neck after playing the Stingray for so many years. Overall I'm pretty happy. I did find someone on ebay selling the same Jazz bridge pickup for $149 new. Which came with the pots, jack and battery terminal. I haven't found anything on the P Bass pickup. So it looks like I got a good deal overall. There are some cosmetic flaws on the neck finish. Which I plan on fixing myself. The tuners looks cheap, but it does stay in tune. I have some Schaller's that I'll put on as well.

I haven't had a chance to expirement with all the switches yet, but this weekend for sure. I'm actually thinking about leaving work early to go play. Members dwalmz
The pickups are Seymour Duncan ProActives (discontinued). The dip switches are for mid cut and dbl cut. Not sure what the third switch is for. I have a set on my custom jazz bass. They are active.
