Members gspointer
Why can't I do it? I have a friend that wants to buy my SVT-4pro. I just use it for practice at my guitar players house. I have a GK800 and a GK400 I could leave there also. I was using it at practice yesterday and was enjoying it more than normal. I don't need it, it takes up space and loses value. Why do I keep it? Similar thing with my trace v-6, I haven't even played through it in 3 or 4 months, I should sell it and the 4, buy a bass or another tele and a new recording interface. Logically it is easy, every time I get half way serious about selling something, I use it and remember why I bought it.
Members nAmzrTakin
I'd probably sell an amp IF I didn't use it anymore. I will NEVER sell a guitar (Bass or otherwise). And my girlfriend goes in the trunk before my Bass does without a hardcase. A good guitar is like a familly pet, you can't just get rid of it any time you like. You have to love them and treat them with respect. You may have noticed my GF and I had a little dissagreement about music gear last night. Moderators Kindness Posted November 25, 2008 Moderators Share Posted November 25, 2008 I don't sell gear either. The only way it leaves my house is when it is donated to a bassist or organization that can put it to better use than I can. If it is between using the gear or getting money for it, I'll always keep the gear. If it is between me rarely using it and someone else putting it to a great use, it goes to them. Members gspointer
I've been looking for a GK 400 :poke: And oddly enough that would be the last one I would sell. I bought it around 20 years ago, it was my first "real" amp. I happily used it for years with an EV 2-15 till I discovered this site and became a gear whore. The EV I did manage to get rid of. The only bass gear I have sold is an early 70's ric, the EV 2-15, a peavey tnt100 and a peavey mark III or IV.

I pass it along when I can... I have a tougher time letting go of the basses that are unique, (Ovation Typhoon, Hohner XK250, etc.), because most folks won't appreciate them as much as I do, even though they don't see much gig time. Bridges, pickups, tuners... if they're hanging around unused, there's always plenty of folks with projects going on -robert
Members basste
The gear i couldn't sell would be my main bass cause i build it in a luthier course. She's from my hands. And two guitars: my first acoustic one, which was my first "horse", and the seagull acoustic which i bring back from Quebec 7 years ago, which is the one i use to sing from time to time, and a kind of "Joly Jumper" to me, like the thing i would keep and would follow me everywhere if i was a lonesome cowboy.. Except these three, i can sold evertything, if it let me have new gear i'm more interested to. I've always done that, cause i never had a lot of money to buy gear. So if i wanted new, i had to sold things. It's like a habit and i don't feel the need to stock gear i don't use.
Members ToeJamFootball
I have regretted selling some of the gear I have sold. Mainly my 8 string, and Eb-3. Ohwell.
