Members blueyedmule
I've been a Knob Creek Bourbon man for a good while now, but with my income down I've gotta scale back. I've read some mixed reviews of Bulleit. Any drinkers of bourbon here? Whaddaya know, man. I loves me some Knob Creek, I wish I could be havin' some now. Members Brother Mango
In the Knob Creek price range ($20 and below), Ancient Ancient Age is a decent one. Eagle Rare is really good. Elijah Craig is a nice one.Ancient Ancient Age is from the Buffalo Trace distillery. And ... Buffalo Trace would be good. I'm basing my selections on what you describe. If you like Knob Creek ... it suggests you like bourbons with fuller flavor, as opposed to the lighter, sweeter ones (like Basil Hayden). You should like my suggestions. The Eagle Rare would be the best choice, I think. Bulleit ... I've seen it and may have tried it at a bourbon tasting but I can't say anything definite about it. But I do need to ask: are you drinking this neat or mixing it with pop & stuff? Take my suggestions if youre drinking it neat or a very little bit of water. Members Thumper
It's decent stuff. I like Knob Creek, Maker's Mark, Bakers. George Dickell is decent for a Tennessee sippin' whisky.
Members Brother Mango
I'm gonna close this night with some Ancient Ancient Age. MMMMmmm..... If I wasn't in scale-back mode, myself, I'd be drinking Booker'sWoah! It's from the Knob Creek distillery and is the shizznit!

Members monkey9872
I do not like the nose on this burbon. It reminds me of Jack when I opened the bottle. Bulleit has a rather agressive flavor followed by a bitter/sour finish that lingers on the rear of the tongue. I find it to be unrefined and unbalanced. I have not enjoyed sipping it. It does well mixed with diet coke. +1 Brother Mango's suggestions
Members lokidecat
I have Bulleit downstairs. I find it fairly smooth and palatable. I can't be as poetic as monkey9872, but I can tell you I like it a lot.
Members s4001
I don't like Bulliet on the rocks. I find it's better straight. It is a little more aggressive than other bourbons.
Members Roger in the sky
bourban man right here.i really like bulleit i agree that it can be a lttle more agressive but i think it's pretty smooth and i drink it neat or rocks depending on the night. like mango said eagle rare is also a good one, very smooth. one of the great under-apriciated bourbons IMO. Members Brother Mango
FINALLY!!!! I went to a bar that serves Bulleit. Nice. I'd definitely buy a bottle. Medium body. Not as hot as Booker's but not as thin as Basil Hayden.Smooth, round flavor. Fantastic option for the $25 - $30 price range.
Members Thrustin
I really like Booker's, Baker's and Knob Creek. Bulleit Bourbon is OK too. I've been drinkin' Old Crow neat, lately. It sucks, but so does my financial situation.
Members Jesse Neil
I bought a bottle of Bulleit this past summer, when I was only drinking bourbon. I tired to switch it up each time, but avoid going over the $35 mark. Knob Creek is generally my favorite so I gave in and had it more than most, but the Bulleit was up there close to it. Definitely one of the best ones of the summer. Brother Mango said Elijah Craig, but I can't agree with him on that one. It was the worst of the summer. It may have just been how I felt that day, but I struggled drinking it. I eventually gave up, and put it in my backseat to stop this sloppy drunk girl from snaking off with it and pounding it down. I forgot it was back there, and the cork came out while I was driving home the next day. I thought my mind was playing tricks with me, but it smelled horrible on that hot day and I wanted to puke. When I got home, I figured out what was up. It took 2 weeks and multiple vigorous cleanings to get rid of the smell. I should have just let the girl have it, because I wanted nothing to do with it anyway. Someone stuck a Beck's beer label on it, and a dumb kid walked up to me and said "Ohh, Beck's Whisky. That's good {censored}." I had to chuckle. But yeah, I hate Elijah Craig.

Members Flogger59
Oh man, living in Quebec sucks hard for Bourbon, the SAQ thinks JD is bourbon. Once in a while you can find Wild Turkey, and about 15 years ago Old Grandad, but that's it!
Members Ender_rpm
For cheaperstuff, I've had a good experience with Whiskey River, Willy Nelson's label. Smooth enough to drink on the rocks, still holds it's own with coke. Also drink Maker's Mark from time to time, but I'm really a Jameson's and Bush Mills guy, so take that as your profile
Members Jacksix
If you are really scaling back, buy Jim Beam in the 1.5 L bottle size "the weekender". That's going to give me my best bang for the buck bourbon. Thankfully, I can still afford Woodford once in awhile. -Jacksix
