Members Stranglehold
I'm getting a squire affinity jazz (black) and I'm gonna put a warmoth 24 fret jazz neck (maple fretboard, black dot inlays) with black tuners on it, I'm gonna get rid of the chrome control plate and put a black one on, I'm gonna get black hardware (probably just a new bridge), and to top it off, a black matte pickguard, and I'll get an artist at my school to draw a design on it (most likely some sort of urban graffti style. maybe a word. not sure.) Eventually I'll put new pickups on, but at the moment I know jack {censored} about them. Sound hot or what?
Members hi.flyer
Sounds pretty cool. That neck'll be expensive, tho. Might as well just do what I did and buy a Squier VM Jazz just for the neck.

Members Zebra
Could you save money just by buying a body? EDIT: Just checked prices on affinity squires, maybe not.

Members Perfessor
I just bought a P bass body for $70 and put a fretless Warmouth neck on it. Perfect fit although I had to shim the neck heel at the very end to get the strings closer to the neck. The neck is perfect. Now I have a very heavy bass with excellent sustain. Members ToeJamFootball
The Warmoth fretless neck I have has an extended board. It doesn't fit over the pickguard, so when the guard is on the string constantly touch the board. I'm not sure if the fretted versions would do this, but I get the feeling that it would be worse... Members bassman1956
Would it be cheaper to build from scratch with eBay parts, or USA or MightyMite or such?
