Members TheLunatic_MH
Just got a Classic Vibe jass bass. Figured it out for a couple of days and then did my American duty by reviewing it in the review section here. After submiting a brief review, I went see if the review was posted yet. And unless I'm missing something there are no Squier reviews as of the last time I last looked, my review has not posted yet. Wierd to me... Anyway so you believe my new bass claim: That's my gaurd cat:mad: making shure no one messes with it...

Members Filobassman
I just bought this same bass for myself as a Xmas gift and it absolutely kicks ass. Got it at GC for $212.00 on black Friday. The bass sounds really full and punchy and was set up really well out of the cardboard box. The only thing that worried me at first is that this bass is so light, barely 7lbs. But after last rehearsal it really shines and fit extremely well in the mix. I recommend this bass to anyone on a budget or who does not have $1000.00 for an American made P bass but has to have one. I was considering an SX but since I really like my Vintage modified 70's jazz took a chance on this squire and am glad I did.
Members solderjunkie
Sid bass FTW! I wanted a Sid-bass, but the Dee Dee won... since I had the maple Squier II neck. To keep mit on-topic... I love my Squiers. Two of my basses have Squier necks, my Floyd Rose Strat is a MIJ Squier, and my Tele is mostly Squier. I love my Squiers. Two of my basses have Squier necks, my Floyd Rose Strat is a MIJ Squier, and my Tele is mostly Squier. The tele in my avatar I put together. I bought all American parts for it except for the neck. I couldn't wait until I had the money for one, so I put on a neck from a squire 51 that I bought for like a hundred bucks and haven't looked back. Members TheLunatic_MH
How does the Vintage modified 70's jazz compare to the classic vibe jazz? The biggest reason I picked the CV over the VM is the neck. I can't remember wich was bigger or smaller, but the CV was better for me. They both sounded about the same. The VM that I tried had no grain on the body wich I didn't like(even looked brown compared to pictures I've seen of them). I thought the block inlays and binding on the neck looked tacky on the bright almost white neck. I liked the tinted finish, and look of the regular fret dots on the CV better than the VM's neck. Also, the frets on the CV are pretty small, something else I'm getting used to. One small complaint I do have with the CV is the thumb rest, it gets in the way while slaping. I love the way it looks and I could easily move/remove it, but it is a small problem. I not even sure why it's there. To rest your thumb after plucking the G string? Seems silly to me. Just like the chrome pick-up covers on some jazzes(not this one) and P's. I love the look of them, but they don't seem at all practical. What is the idea behind them? Long story short, I thought the CV looked better, felt better, played about the same, cost a little more, has smaller frets, has a thumb rest, and is setting in my living room waiting to be played compared to the VM.
