Members blueyedmule
My wife would like to scan and then print photos, enlarging them. We're using a Mac (sawtooth 400, OS X 10.3.9). and an Epson 610 flatbed scanner. For the life of me I can't seem to get this to work, though in the past I have with older software. Seems like I've forgotten how to do this at all. Can I do this in iPhoto? Any computer gurus help?

Just open up the file, go to "resize," then scale down the photo by number pixels. Make sure you keep it on "constrain proportions." I don't have an iMac in front of me so I hope it works. Members philthygeezer
Pick up a copy of Photoshop Elements. Also, if you want good resolution you may want to consider the Epson v700 scanner and do up the negs. It gets way more expensive after that. Members blueyedmule
I did manage to get it enlarged in iPhoto. She wasn't happy with how it printed though, it seemed more red in the print than what was in the original. I think I'd need better software to try to jack around with colors. Buying things is out, as I'm laid off right now. Thanks for tips!! She sounds happy anyway. First print was on old glossy paper, I think it had yellowed. The second try was on newer matte paper. You can actually cut down the red tones using iPhoto. Again I don't have an iMac in front of me, but if you go to edit(?), then colors, you'll be able to pull out some of the red. If I can dial in a pic for my Mrs., that'd be like a Christmas gift for her. She wants it to do a painting so colors need to be good for skin tones.
