Members t3ch
Been looking to unload my strobostomp and was going to get a pitch black, but I might get one of these instead... Short discussion of the two here:http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?p=4565793 It's nice to see that the strobo-stomp 2 appears to track much better than the original though, I wouldn't mind having one of those. I dunno, bro - my Strobostomp tracks extremely well, and has been flawless in every way... No complaints here - even though I use a DTR-2000 for gigging('cause it's in my rack), no way am I getting rid of my Strobostomp - I've used it at a bunch of gigs, and use it all the time in rehearsal or practice at home... - georgestrings
Moderators Kindness Posted December 10, 2008 Moderators Share Posted December 10, 2008 I have the original, it tracks flawlessly. The only way it could "track" better is to be less accurate.

Same here... I've gigged it in situations where I had to drop tune, and the guitard or drummer started the song before I had a chance to tune - and I was able to tune quickly, and come in as needed anyways... - georgestrings
Members RSBro
Do(es) the/any of the Petersons have the Buzz Feiten offsets/presets burned into them? I think the Korg DT-7 is one of the few that does.
Members t3ch
I knew you'd showup. As per the previous like 5 page discussion if why I dislike my strobo, the reason is still there. Let me rephrase by saying it's not that the strobo isn't accurate, but the way the strobe jumps around and clips at times annoys me.

Oh yeah, are you buying that looper or no? I have a guy on backup.
Members Thunderbroom
I had a problem with my Strobostomp II's display washing out. A quick email to Petersen straightened it out quickly. It tracks extremely well and is easy to see in bright sunlight and on dark stages. It's one piece of gear that I won't sell and would replace immediately if it were lost/stolen.

Is this a way of saying that you still haven't figured out how to use a tuning device that's used with ease by thousands of musicians - both pro and amateur??? - georgestrings

I've wanted a Strobostomp since they 1st came out, and after using one for a year or so, I'm still really glad I finally got one... Even though I really like my DTR-2000, if I had to pick one or the other, the Strobostomp would stay, and the DTR-2000 would go down the road... - georgestrings

All the responses in this thread are basically copy/pastes of every other strobo jerk fest that's gone on here. Next time I'll keep it to myself. Did you ever stop to think for one second that if EVERYONE is telling you the same thing, the problem *might* be YOU??? "Yes, because if someone doesn't like something you do, they're automatically idiots who don't know how to use it." In this particular case - yeah, pretty much... - georgestrings

I asked a question for clarification earlier in the thread that you either didn't see or ignored. I'm assuming you didn't see it. What do you mean exactly by "the strobe jumps around and clips at times"? I find the strobe jumps around a lot also unless I use a light attack. If you're using a heavy attack, that may be the problem. I have no guess at what the clipping is and am curious what you're referring to.

I just didn't feel like repeating myself last night (I was cranky and tired ) and had planned to respond this morning. When tuning, the bars on the strobo frequently freak out and bounce around while tuning. It's like it has a tick; "hmm E, E, ACKHASD!!! E, E, BLAJCAHD!!" I've tried using several styles of attack and it always seems to do it. I don't want to say it's working improperly because it DOES tune correctly if I'm patient with it, but it still annoys me nonetheless. I watched the video on the strobo website before buying and their demo did the same thing; albeit not to the same degree. It just really aggravates me for some reason. Watching that clip though, the SSII seems to display the bars much better.
Members RSBro
Yes. cool, thanks. I'm not 100% in love with the "tuning to E" method prescribed on the B.F. website, so I'll probably pick one of these up.
Members bassplayer7770
During my recent audition, the guitarist asked me to tune to a particular frequency. I don't recall which frequency. Anyway, my TU-2 only adjusts from 438-445Hz. I might have to get a Strobo Stomp 2 at some point.
