So today is the final day before we go on holiday routine and the food is shaping up to be spectacular, here's what we have:

2 tri-tip roasts; one Chimi-Churri, the other one is in a a marinade I found while I was in Guam called Finedeni, which is basically chili paste, lemon juice, soy sauce, rice vinigar and red onion. We have about a dozen dungeness crabs and some mint chocolate brownies as well as some high quality snackin' chips too. Sadly no alcohol, but that's cool.

We are off until Jan 5:thu:

Of course we are still on call and we have to come in every 3 days to make sure the building is still here, but its going to be a nice break.

Anyone else having a Xmas shindig?

Dan

yes. It was fun. Like each years, someone strated to throw away something to others, then everybody follows and refectory becomes battle field.

We have some american people to work about a project, they are not shy in the water battle :thu:

We just finished ours. We had a nice catered lunch with ham and turkey, sweet potatoes, salads, mashed potatoes, and dessert. It was nice, we got paid to take a 2 hour lunch!

The CEO gave everyone in the company a second christmas bonus. a $25 gift card to walmart. I'll probably sell it to someone else that works here because I refuse to shop there, even if it is a gift card.

Ours is tonight.

Since I own indirectly half the company, I feel weird writing something in a Christmas card to my parents, haha! :D I don't contribute to their "gift" from the office either, so anyway.

My sister is in town from Nashville and is coming so at least I'll have someone to talk to. Last year I sat next to our then-new CPA who's since left and her son who's about my age and had to "discuss" music, b/c he's a "drummer"...

At least the food kicked ass.

Hopefully it'll go quicker this year.

Had the official party Saturday night...it was kinda lame this year, but all in all not too bad. The Christmas luncheon is tomorrow and that usually consists of some pretty good catered grub.

We hosted the girlfriend's office party at our house last Friday night and it turned into a drunken Wii party so that was cool, plus most of her coworkers are pretty fun to hang with.:thu:

Mine is Jan 3rd. We're going to cruise the river in some tourist ship thing. Free food and booze... hope nobody falls overboard :D

My wife works for Bank of America. Their "party" consisted of about a dozen people meeting at Round Table Pizza, no reservations, and everyone paying for themselves  Pretty nice when one of the richest banks in the world won't spring for a {censored}in pizza.

I forgot. My wife's company party is at the Marriot hotel on Friday night. Every year they rent out the biggest ballroom and have a very fancy formal dinner. Funny thing about it is that my wife works for Intercontinental Hotels Group (Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and all of those) and Marriot is their biggest competitor. :idk:

No {censored}. And to add injury to insult, they had a gift exchange ($10-$15) and my wife got homemade cookies. I didn't mind that, it was a nice gesture... the problem came when the kids left the cookies out last night and I woke up to a kitchen full of ants. All I can say is

Mine was today as well. I went down, saw how many people were there, and went back to my desk. Five minutes before the party was set to end, I went down and horded a plate about 4 inches high full of cheese, meats, and vegetables, and went back up to my desk to eat in peace.

I'm doing a holiday breakfast at school with my students. A youth supervisor and I are bringing in bacon, eggs, omelet fixings and pancake batter. We'll supervise while they do all the work. :D

Some of the school staff are going to the local Chinese buffet for lunch. Then I'm off until January 5th. :thu:

Ours is tomorrow at an Irish Pub in town, at noonish. The beauty is that the pub is one of those "We have over 150 different beers!" places and since the Pres gives us a half day off, it can be fully enjoyed.

This year has a twist. The President mentioned that my boss (a thesbian in town and a guitarist) and I should play a couple songs to close out the show. One of our sales reps was a voice major too, so we have a nice little trio of songs to play tomorrow.

I'm headed off to my wife's office xmas party in about an hour. She works with three hugely narcissistic psychiatrists. The invitation said "black tie". What a bunch of douchebags. And I can't dull the pain with booze cuz I have to drive there and back...about 30 minutes each way.

Should be a blast :o

Oh yeah, I'll probably have to pay for valet parking too
