That would be me.

I bought a (very) slightly used combo head, the NeoX400 (think GBE600) and it was souped up the the 700 watt upgrade. It was pulled out of the cabinet, and I had a friend build a box on all four sides, and I cranked it for the first time last night.

It rocks!

Another band was playing with us, and the bassist is a guy I know and trust. Plays a StingRay5, and his style is very similar to mine. When I played, he walked around out front, when he played I walked around out front. This is what I found:

SR5 + GBE head + BagEnd cab (only one, S15B-D) = SWEET!!! OMG!!! Every note was distinct, and the tone was great. It might have been a little too loud (only one 8-ohm cabintet) but that was the only complaint (master volume set just under 1:00 o'clock). Kenny said that he thought the same about my Carvin - he could hear each individual note and it was crystal clear. He normally packs two cabs plus a rack with an 1100-watt power amp, but he asked a lot of questions about my little rig. He is in a three-piece group + singer, and we had seven-piece group last night.

Thanks to the gurus at Genz-Benz. Happy camper, here.

Oh, I was hoping this would be a press release.

Alexander Aguilar (yes, THAT Aguilar) is job hunting right now my sources tell me.

I have a pool going in my inner circle that is in the know on these things. I have GB being the company to get him, but we'll see how it plays out.

This has been my rig (GBE600 + Bag End S15X-D, and rarely as needed with an additional S15-D) for a few years now, and I couldn't be happier :)

So is Aguilar going to go to the {censored} now or what?

Doubtful, he left a few years ago so it's probably still business as usual. I don't know when he stopped designing there, and who took over in design. I know who the owner is, Dave Boonshaft, the DB in the current series, but I don't know if he is the designer too.
