Members slapthefunkyfour
I tried it the other morning. It is so delicious! I had the idea because a local coffee shop has an eggnog latte. It's been difficult not to go get one every day. I should just learn how to make my own eggnog. Does anyone have a recipe that they have tried out?

Members NeonVomit
Stolen from another forum. Just separate a half dozen eggs into whites and yolks. Pour a half a cup of sugar and a tsp of vanilla extract (or scrape a whole vanilla bean) into the yolks and beat heavily with a whisk... until the yolks lighten in colour and become caramel-like in consistency. Slowly whisk in 12 cups of milk and six cups of cream... or adjust to your tastes, I guess. Beat your whites to soft peaks, add a tblspoon of sugar and beat to stiff peaks. Fold the whites into the raw custard mixture in thirds. You must, MUST leave this mixture overnight in the fridge. This will mellow the egg flavour... it needs at the very least 12 hours, but a full 24 is better. When it comes time to serve, pour 2 ounces of dark rum ({censored} you, Alton) over large ice cubes, and top with the nog and some freshly grated (it abso-mother{censored}ing-lutely MUST be freshly grated) nutmeg.Drink, and keep drinking until you fall down. Members davidM
i prefer the, "go to the groccery store" method, its so time consuming to make, and such a high risk of screwing it up. plus, i can't wait 24 hours for something! Unless its a hairy buffalo!

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. or so i hear. speaking of coffee, my supervisor took my team down for coffee at the nearby caribou. i normally stray from overpriced artsy coffee because I can get 3 months other of coffee for 10 bucks if i make it myself and use a thermos, BUT! I got a drink called the wild cinnamon something er other... some holiday beverage. it was not very wild, nor was it cinnamony, tisk tisk. The ice cream idea sounds GREAT though, we have some vanilla with carmel swirls in the freezer at home... just thinking about it makes me salivate.
