Members BigPigPeaches
My latest project involves a bridge with Ghost piezo saddles. The wiring on these is a bit unsightly, so I was thinking about putting an ashtray cover over the bridge. Problem is, palm muting is a big part of my technique, and I'm pretty sure that this would then be impossible. Other problem is, I can't find a bass with a bridge cover so I can confirm this. Anyone got thoughts?

Anyone got thoughts? Is this what you're talking about? If this is the case, a bridge cover would definitely hamper your palm muting. Although all in all I don't see that being unsightly, so I imagine you're wiring ghost saddles into a different bridge?
Members Navybass65
With a bridge cover you can forget about palm muting. Also, all the piezo bridges I've ever seen hid the wires pretty well, why is yours so unsightly?

You are correct, it is a retrofit to the existing bridge...so the bridge cover will fit it, and it's definitely going to be uglier than the Hipshot (which is pretty sleek). I may just bite the bullet and toss the original bridge, along with the cover.
Members eric.chambers
you can probably just forget about palm muting with any kind of bridge cover. I've played both Teles and P-basses with covers, and no dice.
