Members solderjunkie
The other two bands had H-U-G-E bass rigs. One had an Ampeg fridge with an Ampeg classic head on top, the other had a Hartke Pro rig with a 600 watt head, 115, and 410. I really don't see the point since it just serves as a monitor anyway (DI from my head to a kick-ass PA). I brought my favorite Peavey Firebass head and my SD/Boogie compact 410. My rig surprised the sound guy... I was pretty happy about that:thu: I'm still a bit envious though:(
Members Funkee1
It ain't the size of your rig, it's what it sounds like! Back in the day, I used to rock a GK 200MB on a mic stand at ear level, and sounded better than most other bassists using big concert rigs! Members T. Alan Smith
I see rigs like those and think so much for quality over quantity.
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted January 7, 2009 CMS Author Share Posted January 7, 2009 I see rigs like those and think so much for quality over quantity. An SVT-CL and 810e isn't quality? We should keep in mind that not everyone can afford multiple amps and cabinets to fit every gig. The volume knob may go to 11, but it also goes to 1.
