Members burnthiscorpse
i want to use my EB3 monday for the first rehearsal of the "mule" inspired project I am suposed to be in. But they want to tune to Eb. no big deal, but would these strings. be too light to go a half step down on a short scale? if they are a little loose i dont mind. obviously i dont want rubber bands. Anyone help? my only other experience with this gauge string was on my last EB3. I have a set of 40-100 Daddario's i got for free(rounds) , and he's shipping the 105-45's with it that came off of it. Members PaulyWally
They're OK on a long scale. I would assume they'd be OK on a short scale... but you might need to raise the action a bit, and make sure the truss rod is adjusted properly. IME, light gauge strings are more temperamental when the neck isn't just right. Oh... and I approve of anything M.U.L.E. inspired. Or wait... you meant... umm... never mind. Members burnthiscorpse
will be the second one for me. First one was a trio few years back. Mule with Woody inspired for sure. We got hot quick, second show was with Derek trucks, then Eric Gayles, The slip, Joe Bonnamassa, a few others i cant remember. then the drummer and singer/guitarist just stopped getting along:mad:

WOW i'm such a jackass, DUH!! yeah, trying to tune my schecter 5 a whole step down last year and wondering why it constantly needs a neck adjustment. DUH ! nothin for tension on the neck like that. bumped the strings one gauge and never another problem. Schecter probably had some green mahogany going on too though. I assume the gibson would have a better chunk of wood . Maybe I will just throw the 105's on it for the first rehearsal and then go to 105-45 flats.
