Members fingeringam Posted January 9, 2009 Members Share Posted January 9, 2009 For the last few days when i turn my computer and monitor on, the monitor light turns on for 5 seconds, stays black for 4 of those 5 seconds, then flashes the loading screen for 1 second then turns off. It turns itself on and off until I hold down the power button or unplug the power. Usually I turn everything off and go do something and when i get back one of my brothers has turned it on normally, not knowing of the problem. But today, I turn it on and it flashes white lines and stuff. Sooo, I need help. Is it totally dead? Its about 8 years old so I really wouldn't care if it is. Its an HP computer and monitor that I've really let go in the last few years. Any help/suggestions would be great. If it is determined to be dead, I'd like some suggestions for new monitors under $300 or so. Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sometimes you can google up some good coupon codes for Dell, Office Depot, and Staples. And yeah it sounds like it is dead. Most monitors have a lifespan of five years.
