Members Thumper
Meet the new kids... The Frankencaster has MIM Fender neck and tuners; Squier (Indonesia) agathis body with ash top, tort guard and standard trem; Fralin Blues Special pups and CTS 250 K pots; vintage plastic bits courtesy of Allparts, and Shaller strap-locks. Between eBay, Craigslist and local scavenging, it set me back under $500, and it sounds like The amp is a Vox AC15 fifteen-watt 1x12 all tube combo, new from Musician's Fiend. A slightly used Weber 1x12 Alnico Blue Dog driver goes in tomorrow. Now, all I have to do is learn how to play guitar. I've been playing bass since 1977, so it should be a piece of cake---I mean, guitarists pick up bass pretty quick, right? :poke:

Members NineMinuteNap
I don't much about Vox amps, but that strat is a beauty! Makes me want to do some mods/upgrades to mine.

Members lokidecat
awesome. I've been contemplating a small combo for my guit. I diggit sometimes, but only play it through my PC using a Line6 TonePort.
Members Texas Noise Factory
Love that Vox! I'll have to come out about my new affliction myself someday... Good luck to ya. I fell prey to the upper sixer recently myself. I've been extremely surprised how quickly it's come along after 10 plus years of the lower register. Enjoy! Members Thumper
But now you have a whole new set of controversies to engage with. Are you going to block that trem, for starters? Nope. Unlike one of the guitards in my band, I know how to set up a Strat so the trem stays in tune.

Members Thumper
Nice. Now turn in your bass forum card. Not bloody likely... FWIW, I disconnected the internal speaker on the AC15, and ran a splitter, with the dry signal going into the YBA 200/Avatar 1x15, and the wet signal going into my pedal board/Vox/Avatar 2x10. Cranked up the volume on the Vox, kicked in a few pedals... Oh, Sweet Baby Jeebus...
