Stupid Deal of the Day: X2 wireless

I picked up an XDS Plus demo unit for $250 yesterday from a dealer. I'm thrilled.

That's the one I want, so I'm not stuck with my Mesa rack if I don't want to be, but I still get the benefits of the XDR unit.

Please report back! :)

I intend to get the XDS-Plus after TESTING IT OUT THOROUGHLY IN THE STORE, then rack-mounting it by velcro-ing it to my rack shelf, with the antennae sticking out the front. Hit the Furman, power up. The XDR is so big and bulky compared to the Plus, and I want room for my "rack-mounted" Korg tuner next to it. Don't want to upsize my rack just to fit a rack-mounted wireless. So the Plus is perfect.

But if there's a big batch of crap 95's floating around, I don't care how discounted they are.

But $250 for the Plus... is a freakin STEAL.

Me, too. That's why I couldn't pass it up.

Yeah, I got my XDR-95 as a "B stock" item for $420 from Zzounds - then they credited me back another $30 because it was missing the rack screws and the 9v was dead... So, I figure $390 wasn't bad for an XDR-95...

Yep. You stack how good that XDR rack wireless is against some of the others out there that are pro level and that's a bargain, plain and simple.

No argument here - besides having a bunch of successful gigs under it's belt, I've used a Spector through the XDR-95's DI to record, and got very good results...

I'd hope so. That signal has got to be almost as good as a |_/\// cable! :D
