let me preface this by saying - i know i'm an idiot :)

the weather turned before i could get some enclosures primed ( it was super humid and then got insnanely cold) so i've been sitting on my thumbs and doing repairs for about a week now.

at any rate - i've needed a tremolo on/off footswitch for my deluxe since i've owned it.i couldn't bring myself to buy a stock silver domed reissue for it ( the amp is vintage and has been "tweaked" quite a bit) and buying an off the shelf switch for it just seems "wrong" somehow.

so i tried some new painting stuff to get around the fact that it's too cold to be spraying primer in my basement. here's the finished results :

it works great (YAY!! i can turn the trem on and off on my amp without plugging in a pigtail now!!!!)

and i think it came out great. i've been digging the masked off stuff lately and this is what i did here.

airbrushes are fun stuff. my compressor kicked the bucket last year - i'm still shopping around for a replacement.

what kind of brush do you have?

its just a badger anthem, but it works well for me. I haven't been using it lately because my small compressor died, now all I've got is the 5 horse 30 gallon :p

the badgers are supposed to be pretty dependable.i wonder how long you could paint with that 30 gallon filled up? :)

Hey GM, what you using to paint the enclosures with? I'm wanting to paint up a pedal to match my amp cabinet I'm halfway through painting..

liquitex glossies.BeeTL turnerd me on to them a while back. you have to do a bit of prepwork on the enclosure and bake it afterwards but they look great.

that being said - if you're doing it a solid color, just spray it with a good self-etching primer and hit it with some krylon and then clear coat it.

Also I do believe I have an old-ass fender on-off switch sitting at my parent's hosue in my pile of '{censored} I've never done anything with' if you want it, GM.

i'll just say...

ummmm hell yes?

seriously though - i'd love to have it.maybe i've got something around here you need?

Eh, I don't think it's worth that much- it's in pretty haggard condition- the cord out to the amp got cut at some point, but I imagine that wouldn't be much of a problem for you.

aaaaah ..ok.

self etching primer is the key. as long as you've got a basecoat of it down you can paint them with pretty much anything.the testors model paints also work well, come in smaller quantities and are a bit cheaper.
