HC moderator power. Who has what?

I've asked this before, a while ago, but it was never really answered. Who is the "head moderator" here at HC and at the HCBF?

What I'm getting at is, if a moderator were to go a little funny in the head...you know...a little funny, and starts insulting people or going around posting lewd porno pictures on the threads or anything else that a normal user would get banned for, who could ban the moderator? Do some moderators have higher ranking than others? Can some moderators overturn what one moderator does?

Or is all of this some super-secret club that no one can speak about?

Three levels. Mod, Super mod and admin. All three bass mods are are the same "rank" of super mod. All that means is we can edit threads in all teh forums.

If one of us goes wonky an admin would take action.

Usually, when we make any major action we consult with each other. If a mod has a problem with another mod we talk about the matter and make a decision. If we can't come to a decision we'd ask an admin.

The Mods meet at JAzzAd's top secret lair on the outskirts of the Artic Circle. JazzAd is impervious to bullets, can fly, has X-ray vision and a tremendous schlong.T- Broom can move at supersonic speeds, move objects with his mind, and can control the elements.Catphish is kind of an enigma. We do know he posesses a ring which, when pointed at the sun, can absorb energy, and that stored energy can be turned into a force beam of tremendous power. All of them look really silly in their tights, though.....not that I'm trying to be insulting......;)

Admin's have the most authority. Most of the rest of us are "super mods" which means we can moderate any forum, and then there are basic moderators, who have mod access only to the forum they primarily moderate.

For example, I have Super Mod status, but Live Sound is my forum, so unless there's a blatant problem in another forum (like spam attacks, or really offensive posts) I stay out of them. If I were to go bat{censored}, Phil O'keefe, Craig Anderton or one of the other Admins would be the ones to put the smackdown on the remains of my sorry ass.

What if it's the Admin that's becoming wonky?!?!

Should we panic then?

Nice...like with a tranquilizing dart or something? That's good thinkin
:thu:

Well, Talkbass usually arrives first. We don't know how fast B. Hussein will call in the SF guys. So TB shows up, starts posting up about the differences among boutique basses and the advantages of a Phil Jones Bass amp, and before you know it, the Admin drops like a weightlifter's nut.

Honestly, the system is a bit shaky because the admins are never around. So if Thunderbroom goes rogue, it might be some time before anything could actually be done.

You guys ever wonder why I'm here so much? If T-broom postal's-out, I'm supposed to drop him.

Actually this happened years ago, when he was posting X's in his sig. He was taken out, and Allan Grossman got his password and has been posting as him ever since.

Well? What does everyone consider an insult? I'm sure it's different for each of us and how mentally weak one may be that they can't take the heat. I'd like to know what each of you consider an insult, so that I remember that when I reply to one of your posts. I mean if you don't mind being called a namby pamby, then I'm OK with that, too, but if you're a wuss, I don't really want to upset you either. I don't want to get banninated, but there's no criteria listed for what an insult is or isn't.

And that's the idea. If you don't know the boundary, you won't push it.
