Members rbstern
I've never had to use the services of a luthier before. I've got a bass that needs a new nut and setup work. What should I expect a shop to charge for such work?

Members rpsands
30-50 bucks + strings, typically for a setup. New nut's probably 10-15 bucks + the nut I would wager.
Members Rowka
New nut's probably 10-15 bucks + the nut I would wager. Quite a bit more if you have a nut made, rather than having a cheap poorly fitting plastic nut glued on.
