Members BeeTL Posted January 29, 2009 Members Posted January 29, 2009 Well, a buddy was going to help me with this, but so far...nothing. I did this in Word, fonts are Bradley Hand ITC (54pt) and Century Gothic (12pt). It fits on a Tele and Tele Bass headstock nicely. The only think I wish is that the "Lowe" was thicker (that's what SHE said) in order to accommodate gold or silver fill. What do you think?
Moderators Kindness Posted January 29, 2009 Moderators Posted January 29, 2009 I'm not moved one way or the other. I almost want your logo to include a design, but I recognize that color coordination would be impossible due to the custom painting and that variation in the color scheme of the logo would likely weaken its impact.
Members Incubitabus Posted January 29, 2009 Members Posted January 29, 2009 I agree that it needs to be thicker. Also, I don't like the big separation between "Custom" and "guitars". It gives the impression that there is a big space btween the O and the W in "Lowe".
Members collinwho Posted January 29, 2009 Members Posted January 29, 2009 I like the Century Gothic, not a fan of the script. I think it should either look more calligraphic or more handwritten. Right now it is sitting in an uncomfortable middle ground, where it doesn't look like truly handwritten letter, but it also doesn't look like a real script font either.

Moderators ThudMaker Posted January 29, 2009 Moderators Posted January 29, 2009 There's a guy on ebay who does good work and could possibly be quite helpful to you.

Members HackedByChinese! Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 No. It looks horribly generic. Your graphic logo has about 1000000x more personality.
Members BeeTL Posted January 30, 2009 Author Members Posted January 30, 2009 Available at Lowes??? No wouldn't THAT be something...
Members der oxenrig Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 Available at Lowes??? God, if we sold musical instruments...
Moderators Kindness Posted January 30, 2009 Moderators Posted January 30, 2009 This was the graphic logo I came up with, and I'm kind of feeling "meh" about it right now... You can be meh about it. If so, don't use it. What you posted up top is much worse.
Members 82Daion Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 I much prefer the "graphic" design-it fits the vibe of what you're doing much better, and looks like nothing else on the market. The top one betrays its roots instantly.
Members BeeTL Posted January 30, 2009 Author Members Posted January 30, 2009 OK...OK!!! Back to square one. I've actually considered signing the headstock with the graphic logo above. It just felt a bit pretentious somehow.
Members Guttermouth Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 i dig the graphic logo alot man.if you're gonna put all that work and personality into the guitar you might as well do the headstock logo while you're at it
Members Roguetitan Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 how about something simple, like this?
Moderators ThudMaker Posted January 30, 2009 Moderators Posted January 30, 2009 I'd like to be closer before I send something off to be printed. Is this the guy? Nope. This is the guy I'm thinking of. I've had good luck with him making some waterslides for me.

Members HackedByChinese! Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 Quick Illustrator hack job. EDIT: It scales!
Members brake Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 I am picturing it in an ESP logo kind of font.
Members titovanburen Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 I don't like that funky logo... it looks like it reads "AWE" most of the best custom guitar companies have simple logo's anyways... it doesn't have to be all fancy ...perhaps a big "L" with "owe" written on the bottom part of the L?
Members titovanburen Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 or just disconnect the top of the L from the W...
Members Incubitabus Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 A boxy logo like that won't look very good on the soft curves of a tele headstock. It'll just look distracting.
