Members streetknight
Many of you gave me a lot of ideas on what to look for in my first Bass Rig and I appreciate it. I've been searching and trying to find some deals. I bought this stuff mainly to have at my house that way if any of my friends that play bass come over, we can jam, but I've always wanted to tinker around with it. I think this stuff will do just fine for the purpose it was bought for. Fender Aerodyne Bass and Peavey TKO 115S for a grand total of $350, hope I didn't do too bad. Members mlwarriner
You did great. indeed you did. the aerodyne is a killer bass, and it's hard to go wrong with anything that says peavey on it...

Members WynnD
I have a friend who was using a TKO with a Black Widow speaker to play in a fairly loud band. He cut through. (Heavy handed drummer and guitarist with a full Marshall stack.) If you have a good speaker in the TKO, it's a solid small club amp. (Despite it's 85 watt amp.) Members streetknight
dude... for 350$ its the best purchase i've ever even heard of! COOL! that makes me feel even better. I bought the Aerodyne for $250 and got the Peavey for $100 off Craigslist yesterday. I was hoping I would be in it good enough to get my money back if I needed to sell it later. Anyone know any good beginner dvd's or sites that might point me in the right direction to figure out how to play this thing do ya?
Members bassred
Good find! I think everyone's first rig should be a Peavey, they sound good, and absolutely last forever! I have a Peavey basic 12 that I've had for 12+ years and it still sings! mad love for Peavey combos!
Members bluedogaudio
My first amp was a TKO 65.
Members Pickdust
I don't know much about the TKO but the Aerodyne alone is probably worth $350! (I think they go for around $750 new). Nice score mang!
Members gonzobassman
Thats got to be the coolest three hundred dollar rig ever. I used a TKO this summer while my main amp was in the shop, and despite it's size, and power rating , it cut through and did fine. Good job!!! Members MikeMess
That's a smokin' deal. Aerodynes are usually in the $400 - $500 range used by themselves. Getting the Peavey as well is just gravy.

Members LanEvo
My first amp was a TKO 65.Me, too. I had one from when I first started playing (mid-1980s) until around 1995.

Members musicmaker '55
That is a sweet looking Fender bass.. for $250, looks like you spent some big bucks to accommodate all but the most discerning jam guests you might have sitting in on bass. I had a used 45 watt Peavey combo amp and have tried others. All provided a lot of solid bass tone for the $$ spent.

Members Apendecto
Anyone know any good beginner dvd's or sites that might point me in the right direction to figure out how to play this thing do ya? I would start by finding a song you'd like to learn. Learn what notes you are playing and play with people. But if you are looking online, I've had some luck at http://www.activebass.com/ in the lessons section. Yo.
