Members neverdunn
Anybody have any experience with either of these cabs? I'm looking for a cab and bumped into these for decent money - $350 for 810 and $250 for the 410. I haven't played bass in awhile, but I used to use Hartke 410xl when I did and loved how punchy they were. I'll be joining a classic rock band and need something solid that can cover me when we don't have an option to run the bass through the PA. thanks........ Members Poltergeist
i'd say the 810, thats the obvious choice, if youre able to lug it around and stuff.

Members T. Alan Smith
I'm a quality over quantity guy. I suggest Goliath or Goliath Jr. If you want real SWR go Professional Series. Otherwise, if you want bang for buck, look elsewhere.

I would love to get away with a 410 and can get a Hartke 410 XL for around $225, but I'm not sure I can get away with that just that cab. I'm not tied to the Workingman, and I can get a Goliath 410 at the same price as the 810. How much of a difference is there in sound? I'm probably taking a 150 mile ride tomorrow to listen to a few cabs, but I would like more feedback on options or how these cabs sound. I haven't read much for reviews on the Workingman line.... Members harrwood
SWR rocks! How big are the venues you're playing? How much do you (or your roadies want to haul around? How big is the back of your van? How much $$ do you have to spend? Why are you asking me what cabinet you should buy?

Members neverdunn
Thanks for the replies. I ended up getting a Goliath III and BBE BMax for just $400. It was remarkable how much better the Goliath sounded over the Workingman. No contest. So how do I date the cab to know if it a Fender production or pre-Fender? Just rock that cab and have a good time. By the way- good score. Great work!
