Members poomwah
Mary Ann suggested going to GC on saturday while we are out and about so I can play a few schecters and compare a few models. In particular c-4 and stiletto custom(got a line on a niced used one for 300) and maybe a damien. Sounds like a fun day to me... I'm just wondering how crazy I should expect the store to be with their sale going on this weekend... should I expect a madhouse?
Members Crescent Seven
Saturdays at GC are usually a madhouse, sale or no sale. They have a MEGA SUPER ONCE IN A MILLENNIUM SALES EVENT!!!!! every weekend, so it's no different than normal. Get there early to avoid most of the crowds. The GC's near me are always busiest mid to late afternoon.C7
Members T. Alan Smith
Anymore, I absolutely cannot handle GC on the weekends...especially when wanting to do business and/or check out tools. Too many kids/idiots cranking up fizzy gain and sloppily "playing" Metallica as loud as they deem necessary.
Members greenshag
my absolute favorite time to go is Sunday mornings when they open up. Nobody in the place!!!!
Members poomwah
so if I want to get an accurate idea of what an instrument is really like, I should do it another time I guess.

No, just get there early. You're not test driving amps or cabs, so as long as you get an idea how the bass feels, plays, and how the controls work, you'll be alright. Besides, have you noticed how GC sets up their bass areas? They're designed to accentuate bass. They put all the big amps in a cubby, with a high ceiling and a wall above the entrance. They're no good for testing amps and cabs, either.C7
