Yeah, that was one of my students that weekend. He caught a lot of crap about his "Stig Helmet." I don't think you can get away with a Simpson Bandit helmet with "Blue Blocker" visor anymore. Just like the guys with the "rookie red" Nomex suits get crap for being M. Shumacher wannabes
:cop:

What if someone was wearing the simpson helmet with the rookie red suit?

I took up martial arts last summer. We study jeet kune do. Right now we're working on wing chun basics, then we'll go through modified wing chun, then later the final evolution into jeet kune do. I'm very lucky to be a friend and coworker of a guy who's been in martial arts since childhood (he's in his 50's now) and who studied for about 20 years with one of Bruce Lee's principle students and friends. He's also an accomplished Kajukenbo instructor. He grew up in San Diego and learned Filipino stick n' knife from Filipinos who were trading instruction with his dad, a Marine Corp hand-to-hand instructor. Oh, and he did competed in PKA Karate throughout the seventies as a ranked fighter.

That doesn't make me a badass, it just means I'm getting fresh water close to the source. Truth is, my stuff sucks. I don't work at it as hard as I should. Still, it sucks less now than it did when I started.

Yeah but I'm trying to break that one...
:(

Like porn, it's a toughie!

I've found in the past the only way is to make it hurt when you break the habit. I gave all my porn to my friend. It worked, man that was tough.

I suggest you give me all your gear, it will hurt more if you give it to a guy that you barely know, yet can be trusted to absolutely never give it back no matter how much you claim to be cured. :D

Sure bub. Just get me that shipping address! :D

For the porn aspect though, I'd have to give up my laptop and desktop and portable HD...

And I gotta use those!

I use my mp3's as a gauge. When I have more porn than music, it's time to buy more music.
:D

*checks*

If my memory serves correctly, I gotta be around 65GB of music.
Porn probably has the edge, although slightly. I just recently did some housekeeping. :D

Discgolf. Winter is killin me. A week ago a bunch of us got out for our first round of 2009 and I won:thu: but lost one of my favorite discs in the snow:mad:

I never particularly liked frisbee growing up, but I can't hit a golfball to save my life...Unless I use a baseball swing style step in when I swing the club, ugly though:eek:

BEST DRIVER EVAAAR?????
:D

Close. Best driver evar would need a Simpson Bandit with Blue Blocker visor, a rookie red Sparco suit...and matching red driving shoes and gloves (preferably OMP). That's how you know you're dealing with real ultimate power!

My motorbike (bikes have been a 14 year obsession), Photography (though not so much a 'hobby'), doing any general art (drawing, painting etc) and more recently a lot of cooking (to the point I've started a commercial chef's certificate)..

Pretty much anything creative (except the bike!)

How many GB is too many for pron? Seriously. I gotta cut back to 100 or so...

You're positing on an impossibility. You can't have too many gigabytes to store porn.

Go on and cut back to a 100gb drive. See how soon you buy another one. Don't be a dip{censored}, come talk to us when you fill a 1tb drive with hardcore MPEGs and we'll start to discuss the "too much" aspect. Pistol grip pumpin' ass mofukka.:D

Ok, I have been doing something with my free time for about 1.5 years now. Its called Hashing....no, it has nothing to do with recreational pharmacuticals...it has to do with running (not racing) and drinking beer. I know what you are thinking...'ikestr, this sounds pretty damned wierd, who in the world would drink beer and then run, this sounds stupid'. I gotta say thats exactly what i thought when i first heard about it.

But then i went to my first hash and i got hooked! Great people, good beer, good calorie burner, and did i mention that some of the females flash their beautiful boobs!

Basically the hash is a drinking club with a running problem. Ive met some of the coolest people there who have turned out to be great friends. In fact one of the hashes has asked me to present an entertainment package for their next big run this summer.

Anyway, if you are interested just type the words 'hash house harriers' after the name of your city and you will see what its all about and there should be run starst posted there also. For instance you could type in san diego hash house harriers and look at the runstarts and see pics of some of the runs we have done.

Sorry to keep going on and on, but this is one cool thing i do (and i aint that cool) besides play bass.

Here is a link to the san diego hash intro video, its only 1.5min long, im the guy at the very end of the video waving goodbye.

Here's another video I found of a bungee-launched radio controlled glider. Unfortunately, it's not on YouTube -- it's a WMV file:

http://www.californiasailplanes.com/f20bungee.wmv

Here are the raw materials you need to launch a 1-meter glider more than a hundred feet in the air and go from 0 to 60 in under 2 seconds.

bungee.jpg

And here's a typical 48" combat EPP glider (not mine). You get airborne off a slope in windy conditions along with several other combat gliders, then you try to do kamakazi dives into the other gliders and knock 'em out of the sky! The EPP foam used to build them is very resilient, and these things can bounce off rocks without too much damage.
