Members joewithane10
Lately I have been considering buying a 5 string bass. I currently have a (4 string)MEXICAN Fender Active Jazz (noiseless pickups) with the vintage 60's chrome hardware. For my new bass, I have been looking at the Ibanez SR 1005 prestige and the Carvin LB75P. I'm willing to go up to $1200 for a new one.Does anyone have any "beefs" on any of these 2 guitars, think I should keep the Jazz, or have a third option? Any suggestions? Members blueyedmule
Third option: Badass D-tuner with maybe a .110 E string.Fourth option: restring BEAD with a proper setup by a good tech. The nut will need refiled for one, bridge intonation and saddle height readjusted, truss rod as well. And have you put on a Badass bridge yet? If not, I'd add that as part of either option. Members Thunderbroom
Most of my 4 stringers are tuned BEAD. On the 5 string front, I highly recommend the G&L Tribute L-2500: The price has gone up on these ($800 new). Buy used. Here's mine:
