Members tubealot
For another 70 bucks you could get a Yamaha RBX4 A2, much nicer. I saw at SDM they have both the black and white versions for 299. I know they would price match a black one but I don't know about the white one. 299 is real cheap. Was that just a random comment from left field or is there some connection between a Yamaha 4 string and a Rogue 6 string that I don't get? :poke:
Members tubealot
I didn't consider the 2 extra strings, sorry. Just the monetary aspect, I guess it still doesn't apply. If you want 6 then my 4 string comment is lacking.

Members 82Daion
how much would it cost to make it a great bass? I attempted to set one up for a buddy once. The fretwork was abysmal-there were a ton of high frets and the ends were barely filed, and I could slip a business card under some of the frets due to lifting. In short, it needed major fretwork to even come close to being playable. The rest of the bass was only mediocre-the woodwork was good, but the electronics were passable at best. An amusing detail was that the "preamp" was cast into half of a P-bass pickup cover. *DISCLAIMER* My friend purchased the bass used, so it is hard to say what the fretwork was like from the factory, but it was so bad that it was hard for me to believe that it had somehow just "gotten that way." However, the top around the control knobs was cracked due to impact damage, and the bass did not otherwise indicate that it had led an easy life to that point, so I would take my comments with a grain of salt. It was, however, far and away the worst fretwork I have seen on an instrument made within the last 5 years, and I've played everything from SXes to Foderas in that time period. So, long story short, it's an OK bass at best assuming that the frets come decently done, which, based on my extremely limited sample size, is unlikely. Members 82Daion
Whats the word on today's deal? It appears to have serious driver issues, some bad enough to completely brick one's Windows installation if you're running XP SP3 (at least according to the reviews). I wouldn't even risk it with Vista. Considering the number of options available around that price point normally, I'd pass. The driver issue alone (assuming there is one) is likely to cause endless nightmares.
