Members SexWithRobots
I made a thread seeking a bassist awhile ago and with no luck I wanted to try again. SO, if you are a dedicated and experienced bassist (no guitar players who can play bass) and between the age of at least 18-25 ideally but not limited to, please either leave a message here or pm me. The musical style is along the lines of rock/indie rock/ambient. Our musical interests range from: Circa Survive, Lydia, Dredg, Portugal. The Man, Telescreen, He is legend, The Sound Of Animals Fighting, The Appleseed Cast, Saosin, The Bled, Thrice, Thursday, Scatter the ashes, Ratatat, Paramore, Neil on Impression, Broken Social Scene, Explosions in the Sky. If you like any of these bands or any bands similar to these that would be a good sign. I can provide more details if people are interested. Thanks. Members SexWithRobots
I got nothing against playing with older guys but we are trying to keep it around the average age of everyone else in the group for obvious reasons. Members Reverend179
Obvious? Obvious reasons that they want to 'make it' and having an old fart like you on bass would really drive the poon away.

Exactly. I'd love to know more detail on what they define as "old phart." Inquiring minds wanna know. [folds arms and waits]
Members Reverend179
Anything over 27 is probably too old. If you have a house, or a nice car, you're probably classified as 'old'.
Members bassment zombie
Would you really want to play in a band with guys younger than you, who for "obvious reasons," have compatibility issues with those outside of their narrow age range? I'd love to know what that has to do with fitting stylistically in the alternative or especially ambient scene tho...unless, of course, they're being really shallow & ignorant. Dude, I had a band reject me because I was too fat. I'm 6' and 225 pounds. Not skinny but not like a total lardass. Apparently because I didn't fit into girl jeans I didn't look the part. There's no depth to shallowness in the world.

I've gotten the fortune to play with several very talented musicians in their early 20's last year alone. Sure, conversations would be short, but the music would far make up for it.
