Members Apendecto
Does your amp have a overdrive channel? I'm not familiar with it at all. Yo.
Members RSBro
Does your amp have a overdrive channel? I'm not familiar with it at all. Yo. No. That's the SVT-89,356,356 PRO-XE! (seriously tho, I thought it did too- but maybe that's the 5PRO or something) Get the Aguilar Agro. Bad mother!

Members 0175westwood29
anyone used a boss mega distortion pedal for bass? think of running one, but putting inside my rack unit, maybe using something like a voodoo labs to swtich between a few pedals? or im still looking into the rbi sansamp but im confused on the hole connection thing, i dnt want to loose the pre amp in my amp so do i just connect it up a pedal? Members Reverend179
Obscure Intersteller Overdrive?Yo. +1. I'm still looking for a Blue-Face IOD. One of the best overdrive preamps you can buy.

I think that particular Boss is modeled in my Line 6 M13. If so, it's pretty ridiculous for bass. It saturates very well and gives you some crushing distortion. It'll eat a Sansamp's tone for breakfast. I just had the Bass Tri-DI thingy and it was pretty average. The rackmount stuff is better IMO. I wanted to eventually do a pedal-rack setup, but it's just SO much freaking time and $$$ to get a good one setup and you still need a foot controller and MIDI cable anyhow. Not really. That's about as cheap as they come. GCX is next, with CAE stuff being uber-high end.

Members RSBro
the gcx version. The controller IIRC is just a 1U rackmount. I think it has 8 patch bays switchable via their foot controller. http://www.voodoolab.com/gcx.htm

Members RSBro
Might be tight. I don't know if 1U is enough to clear pedals, then again it could be, I just dunno.

Members Melville
I don't know anything about the Voodoo Labs switcher, but I've got a GCX system that I love (the older style Ground Control, and the GCX audio switcher.) I've found that I need at least 2 rack spaces for my pedals (Boss size, MXR, and Danelectro). Depth wise, with right angle patch cables plugged in, is about 7 inches. Your rack should be able to hold pedals in the back, it will probably just be a PITA to have to adjust all your pedals in the back of your rack though. If I remember right, Peavey or Samson made something similar many years ago. Called something like the "MIDI Octopus", but I could be totally wrong on the name. I saw one used at a music shop in West Texas, but all ready had the GCX so I didn't mess with it. And, obligatory picture of my effects rack: As for a rackmount overdrive/distortion unit: I'm interested in the PSA-1 since it's designed for guitar and bass. And I've heard good things about the Interstellar Overdrive, but I've never used one.
