Members zacheryhunter
I haven't posted in the bass forum before and have a question. The bass sound on Pinkerton is one of my favorites of all time, and I'm wondering if it would be possible to use an eq to get a decent approximation. If so, which frequencies would you boost/cut etc... A guy I'm playing with is running a jazz bass through an svt classic. The closest I've ever gotten was running a buddy's 70s ampeg v4 about half way up through an 8x10 cab, but I don't have access to that amp anymore sadly. Thanks in advance
Members Billystrat
I believe that sound (from memory) is a jazz bass with cranked through an SVT. If you/your friend has a jazz bass you're halfway there. Next you just need to crank up the gain and overdrive the preamp. Ultimately, that sound was had by cranking a tube amp. Since you probably can't crank an amp all the time, maybe some light distortion and mid range boost will help.
