Can't get the manual to download. I know it does 210w at 4ohms, and 300w at 2ohms, but what about at 8ohms? (Backup transpo prevents me using two cabs right now, and I'm looking at a used Mark III head.) Thanks.

Also, what's it weigh?

^ Thanks Chunky-B, I did get the 2nd link to open. However all I can find are diagrams and knob-feature descriptions. Can you find anyplace it says what it weighs? (I have to replace my 60lb. rack-amp as it keeps slipping and cutting/smashing my fingers.)

Nope. But I know there are several people on here who have or have had one... Hopefully they will be along shortly and find this thread and be able to provide more info...

I had two back in the '80s but I can't remember what it said on the back of the amps. But it did state output for corresponding impedance.

i have a feeling it can be either 400w or 700w. i got given a mark iii series by an uncle. it had both those numbers on and i couldn't figure out which was relevant!! hehe. sorry, not much of a tech head. but there's something about 400w.

It's def a 1979, 400BH model. I don't know where the 400 comes from, but strangely, some HC Reviews do talk about 400-800watts (?), but that's under the generic listing of Peavey Mark III, wih no model #'s/dates for the review category. If it's really 50lbs. I'm totally out of the deal though. (For reason, check my prior post in "view all posts by tocs100.")
