Members Funkee1
This is going to differ from my "Guilty pleasures" or "Embarrassing confessions" threads. Those are about stuff you listen to that you're embarrassed to admit. Those are about shame! This thread is for you to proudly make your case for a band that gets a lot of crap! Here, list bands you dig the crap out of (or individual songs), and you don't care who knows it! As usual, I'll start: 1) Linkin Park- yes.....everything you're gonna say is true. The Nu-metal thing ios played out, Chester has a weird, strainy voice, and they don't let Shinoda rap enough.... but there hasn't been a single of theirs I haven't dug. 2) Backstreet Boys- Say what you want, but those MFers could harmonize. And "I want it that way" is a freakin great song. Everytime I hear it, I hear something else great about it. 3) Timbaland- Best producer around right now, and if you don't think so, listen to "Justified", and "One Republic". 4) Going Old Skool on this one: When everyone else had LEd Zep t-shirts, or AC/ DC Shirts, or even Rush T- shirts, I had the balls to wear an Elton John shirt. I'll put "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" up against Houses of the Holy or Hemispheres in a hot minute. 5) Broken Wings by Mr. Mister does NOT suck. Just the keyboard sounds alone make it an interesting listen.

Members chunky-b
I'll kick off the {censored}storm and take the flaming, but damnit, I like Jimmy Buffett. Not all of his songs, but a lot of them. Not for any musical superiority (he never claims that) but for the escapism and easy going way of life philosophy... Members Chaos5522
+1 for Linkin Park. I was into them really early on (alnough not as early as my buddy from Philly who used to see them back before they changed their name) The rest of mine have more to do with the fact that all my friends are into classic rock/jazz/blues System of a Down - big fan of Serj's vocals. Even Daron's too and the harmonies they use just sound awesome. Only their studio stuff though...seen em twice live and although the energy is great, they're just not particularly good live. AFI - I love the vocals so much...I grew up singing in a choir and I've always thought of their sound as a punk/metal choir. Tristania - Norweigan goth metal band. Some of my friends complain that these guys don't have a guitar player that shreds like so many other metal bands, but the sound is dark and heavy. But the vocals (hehe see a pattern here?) are a great combination of the lead singer's growl and the female singer's classical style is just beautiful. Peter, Paul, and Mary- I grew up on this stuff and it's really where I learned my sense of vocal harmony.
