Got a old Fender 4x10. Got a question about Ohms.

It has two speaker input jacks in the back. My GK 210 head has two speaker outputs.

Now with an 8 ohm cab which this 4x10 is. Could I essentially split the ohms to 4 and get more power by plugging both the amp speaker outputs to both speaker inputs on the cab?

I was going to ask before I did it.

Also the internal speakers are 4 ohm. They say not to plug anything else in if they are plugged in. But could an 8 ohm cab plugged in with the 4 ohms speakers cause any damage to the amp?

Plugging the 8 ohm cabinet in along with the 4 ohm internal speakers would result in a 2.67 ohm load, which is very likely too low for the amp. That's why they say not to plug anything else in at the same time.

Basically what they're saying is go ahead and do it, but make sure you video tape it and then post a link here afterwards.

Yes definitely. And having a fire extinguisher on hand wouldn't be a bad idea either.
