Members Crescent Seven
I remember sitting in my grandfather's kitchen when I was a little kid, listening to "The Rest of the Story" and "News and Comment". I still tuned in at 11:45am and 2:45pm every day in my work van. Dude was a badass, another icon gone. RIP. Stand by for news!C7

Members Crescent Seven
...he was a true class act...very few of his like around any longer... True. I knew he was having health issues when, last year, his son and other people began filling in for him, but man, it wasn't the same. He came back a few times but you could tell he was getting tired. His tenure was absolutely amazing. There isn't another media icon that's on his level right now, and I don't expect that there ever will be. When a 90 year old man can get on the mic and speak like he did...man. In a way, it's too bad that he never recorded a farewell address, it would have been interesting to me to hear him give an account of his personal feelings and experiences, his opinion on the current state of media, and what he thought the future held for broadcast media. I think it might have shocked some of the current personalities in mass media.C7
Members SB900LE
Sorry to hear he's gone. I found a "Rest of the Story" piece he did just over two months ago, on Christmas Eve. It's about music. http://www.kffb.com/blog/paul-harvey-december-24-2008-silent-night/

Members bnyswonger
I liked him when I was a kid and first started paying attention to the news on the radio. When I've heard him lately, I was visualizing something like a shriveled head in a jar with a microphone in front of it... Dude kept workin' - you gotta respect that.
