...I will say that through my Aggie 410 it did sound slightly better...I was considering re-tubing it, but that would cost money. To my ears it's something aboot the high mids that I don't like.

 

 

It's just the V-4BH amp in a bad cabinet. Not exactly the best pairing.

Yeah the Fliptop is a cool idea, but not the best for a speaker cabinet design.

Kindness, what is the difference between a V-4B and a V-4BH? I'm wondering if it's worth the investment to drop the money into some better (er, different) tubes down the road...and maybe throwing it on a 1x12 (maybe one of the Acme's when they're available:love:)

the singer in my band has an old flip top. i think its from the 60's and it has a tube rectifier. we WILL be using it when we do some recording soon.

 

oh and the craziest thing... he got it for FREE. another one of his friends didn't want it anymore.
