i'm sorry if this is in bad form...i looked around and didn't see anything about this...

any way...first time posting here. my name is jake and i've been playing guitar for 20 years or so. i recently was given a vintage silvertone bass that i wanted to re-string...when i took the old ones off, i couldn't fit the balls of the new strings under the bridge...any idea of what kind of strings i should use?

La Bella makes a special set labeled for Danelectros. Most short scale string sets should have smaller balls though, are you using short scale strings?[/QUOT

the strings i bought were not short scale.

thanks for your help guys...i appreciate it.

got a set of short scale flat wound...rather light.

and the bass plays great! it feels like a fretless it is so smooth!

now, i just have to learn to play it.

He said smaller balls

we were at my kids' baseball game and one of the coaches says something about having "four balls" and my older son (8) says "4? i only have 2".

i guess the funniest part about it is...my kids are "preacher's kids".

the coach was kinda stunned an d i said... "well...i feel funny calling them testicles".

Posting a bass-related question in the bass forum?

How COULD you! I mean.. how DARE you!

:poke:

Post away whatever questions you have. We're not sticklers about "use search or we'll ridicule you"

HC search function is butt-ass craptastic, so you're fine.

:p
