Members db.
However, besides salt, what is the best condiment(s) for this deliciously fattening but gloriously satiating spud dish? I say mayonnaise, in moderation. What do you put on your deep fried spuds? BTW, French Fries are actually originally a Belgian delicacy, not French. Those Frenchies like to take credit for everything.

Oh, and Gravy.. hmmm... I would have argued with you at one point, but after having spent several months in Louisiana, I might have to agree. Fries and gravy. Mmmmm. That or ranch... but basically everything is good with ranch.

Members ezstep
On "good" French fries, put nothing. On the cheaper versions, ketchup or ranch (but not much).

Members Thrustin
I agree with bleu cheese. There is a local joint that takes potato chips and puts alfredo sauce and bleu cheese on them. It's terribly good.
Members db.
Sea salt and malt vinegar. This is very good, too. With fish.
Members Svi
Really? Is that good? Is it melted? Doesn't really melt, but if the fries are hot enough it will. If you can find a place that has it, get it, because it is the best. So are the garbage tots from Bar Louie.

I remember having 'cool ranch' Doritos when I was there (which were average to say the least).. as an employee of the company responsible for doritos, i apologize they are the non-spicy option we created. it tastes nothing of ranch, which is a salad dressing that can be quite tastey. also, i don't like gravy, but poutine is amazing. wish that was an option too. for now, i choose chili. mmmmm chili.... Members mrs. bleepo
What happened to Black Pepper Doritos? the rule is, if i like it, they discontinue it. proven yet again by discontinuing the southwestern ranch dip. i shall buy them all. ALL!!! the thing with doritos i found is that it is geared to the youngins, so apart from the few that stay constant, the other rotate quickly cuz the youngins have no attention span.
