Members LarryNJ
Look inside-You'll find (4) KT-88's in the Jag and (6) 6L6GC's in the BUSTER. (Preamp tubes don't count; you don't need to see those-) What's it like? It's good. Very good.

Members fealach
All the pics actually showing tubes (well, there's one chart) I have on my hard drive. Peavey Alphabass, gone now. Peavey Classic 400. Looked impressive. There was quite a swell in the popularity of these beasts (and a multiplication of their resale value!) after I sold mine. Weighed more than a Honda Civic. I took out the Peavey logo on the front panel and replaced it with wire mesh so I could see the tubes. Thought it looked better that way, but it was an easily reversible mod. Got the idea for it from the Sunn300t I used to own. That was a cool looking amp. Sound City X188. The tubes it came with were worth more than the amp, but I sold them to finance its restoration, and still consider it a good move. Here's the only other tube pic I have: Nonfunctional but brand new JJ KT88 30 seconds after trying it in an amp. If I had examined it closer before putting it in, I might have noticed the glass was at an odd angle vs the metal base, and been suspicious. It's pretty, what with the white up top and the speckles of snow on the inside, so I use it as a Christmas tree ornament. The others have been very reliable, moreso than the merchant I bought this one from, so I just buy them elsewhere.

I sold it for less than what I paid you for it tubeless + the 8x Sovtek KT88 + the bench fee for the bias job I'm designing & building my own tube head currently so no pictures yet for me. It's got some things in common with the Ampeg B15, Hiwatt DR103 and Fender 400PS and should put out about 140 watts. Design wise, I'll be putting a mess grill on the front like the Sunn300t (and like you did to the C400)... it is an awesome look.

Always hurts to lose money selling something, especially if you still like it! Your design sounds interesting, I'll stay tuned for updates here and on "that other" forum.
