Members Chaos5522
So I'm sitting here, watching some anime, and the fansub group has been leaving in some of the commercials lately. So I get to the end of the episode, watch the preview for the next episode, and it cuts to a commercial. And I had to do a double-take...standing there with a bass...and I look again...and he says "Hi, I'm Billy Sheehan..." Not exactly earth shattering news or anything, but on a list of things I didn't expect to see while I was watching anime...

Members Chaos5522
it's an anime called Canaan. It's about two reporters trying to uncover the conspiracy over a supervirus tested on a remote village. According to the government, everybody died, but in reality it gave some of the people freakish mutant powers....or it turned them into mindless zombies so sensitive to light and sound that they have to wear special helmets or their brains literally explode. Overarching all of this is the battle between two female mercenaries who were both trained by the same guy. So, yeah...super virus, government conspiracy, mutant superpowers, mindless virus carrying zombies with exploding heads, mercenary gunfights....pretty {censored}ing epic thusfar

Members oldivor
It's by Nasu who's done the Type-Moon stuff. It's pretty good IMO.
Members Chaos5522
He's going to be a guest judge for the finale of an international sort of battle of the bands, which is apparently the summation of two different BotBs called Tokyo Band Summit 2009 vs Asian Beat After reading up on it, I kinda wish I could go...free admission, bass clinic, and they're giving away two signed basses... Yeah I kinda figured Oldivor would know what I was talking about, but awesome to know there's another anime fan on here. As far as other anime I'd recommend....judging from your sig, and ren's post about "Where the Wild Things Are", you should check out Monster if you haven't already. It's an epic horror/thriller masterpiece that involves bizarre children's books warping the minds of a child into a brilliant serial killer who the incarnation of perfect, absolute evil. It's 74 episodes long, but it's well worth it for the evil and the plot twists.
