:D

Hi All,

Well, I finally made it back home today. Was slow coming out of anesthesia, so they kept me a night. They knew I was getting discharged first thing this AM, but it took them all day to make it happen. :p

The surgeon said everything went very well, and, what he described made it sound much worse than he expected. It was about a 2-hour procedure. There was a lot of calcification around the left side and back part of the disc, and around that left foramen. Also, there was quite a ridge on the vertebra above it that had to be removed. And, even in the center affecting the spinal column to both sides, he found it necessary to make plenty of extra room. He seemed very pleased with the prognosis, so that's what we'll go by for now. And yes, I can already tell a difference down my left leg and both feet. Cool!

Thanks for your prayers and support.

Karl

PS- My pup Angie got nailed by a baby skunk tonight, that charged her! Not that badly, but we can smell it. What the hell can I do about that in my current condition! Yukkk!

Wow! How'd you know what my nurse looked like!

If your nurse looked like that, what in the hell are you doing at home?!

Good to hear you're feeling better though, you need plenty of back strength to hold up that beard.:p

Now, if we could do something about the skunk smell...

We tried some fabreeze...

I've heard tomato juice works well if you bathe her in it. But then again, what do I know? I love the smell of skunk :D

Get well soon, Karl. Glad it went okay!

Godspeed on the recovery. As far as getting rid of the skunk smell, IDK.

Reminds me of a joke, though!

Guy walks into an elevator,

"' 'scuse me miss, but can I smell your feet?"

" You most certainly may NOT!"

" Oh...Must be your p$&&%." :lol:

So.....what cha doin now???

Chillin'.

I alternate between walking and moving around, sitting for a max of 20 minutes, and laying down and drifting out of it. Also ice packs. Actually, I'm not nearly as out of it as with the neck fusion surgery 3 years ago. But my god, I hope this is the last!

Give me a couple days, and I hope to do a little with my time off. Have a few things I'd like to work with. Starting with relearning how to use Acid, and try tweaking a few recordings me and the neighbor made. But I'm really limited on movement right now.

My bro-in-law's hear through sunday. After that, I'm on my own. So I hope I'll be as capable as they lead me to believe. I think I will. Still can't drive for a while. Or bend. Or lift. But I'll get there. Think I'll be open to some company in a week or two. ;)
