Members fingeringam
I can't remember ezactly which one of you guys have them. Are the stock pickups any good? I've heard they can be kind of thin and weak. How do they sound played with a pick? I don't really wanna upgrade the pickups as cash is tight already but it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I'm going for something like this, nothing spectacular: I know tone is subjective:blah: but its a pretty long drive to the dudes house so I'd rather get a ball park idea from you. Members BeeTL
I've never read anything but positive about the Fender vintage pickups: http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0992123000 If you want the sound of a Fender Jazz Bass, these will deliver. Ah bummer, thats what I was afraid of Are there any passive Bart J's that are drop in replacements or would some routing/sanding be in order? I'd say try the stock pickups first to see what you think. Some like Barts. I'm not a huge Bart fan. Tastes vary.

Members Renfield
The guy said I could play around with her through his rig to see if I like it so I will definetely decide for myself but, I have Barts in my P right now and I like them a lot. A Jazz set is right around ~$160 and I'm sure if I absolutely hate them I could recoup my loss somehow. Cool! I think I should go call the guy and make sure its still around. Usually a set of new Bart jazzes is around $125. I need a pair for my Hwy1, I have the stock pups in still, hate them and want Barts, just haven't put the money towards it yet. If you buy and don't like them, let me know, I may buy them from you.
