Very stoked about this one. Nice nice 2/1 condo about a block from work in the Galleria/Uptown area. Tons tons of amenities and I don't even have to pay Utils, much less gas for traveling every day or lawn care and all that other stuff that goes into having a house.

S/be in by middle of next month!

Noice, many congrats!!

Downside- cranky neighbors and big bass cabs don't mix
:(

Upside- rehearsal space is now only less than 10 mins away!:cool: I have thought about however bringing in my rig through the lobby past the concierge and taking it up the elevator, talking about how heavy and loud it is, just so everyone sees it going into my unit! :D Then secretly take it back to practice the next day...:lol: Faces would be priceless!

My mom asked what I wanted for Christmas-

I said "Have you seen my furnishings, or lack thereof?? Yeah, those don't work in this new apt!" :D

In all seriousness I probably will only get like a new nightstand or two. My living room stuff isn't that bad at all.

Very nice!

Love the industrial look, with pipes and ducts running through the ceilings.

Looks pricey.

Should see the penthouses... :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

And it's actually about $100-150 less than ones I was ready to lease just last week.

We're selling our suburban place and moving to a condo/loft in Chicago next year. I can't wait!!

I used to be so opposed to that style of place and living so near everything. Now I can barely sleep I'm so pumped! :thu::thu:

I felt the same way until the last few months. I always thought I wanted a big house out in the burbs with a manicured lawn. Now I can't wait until I have someone else shoveling the snow at my condo instead of me having to fire up the snowblower (or lawnmower in the Summer).

Being able to walk to a restaurant or hop on public transportation to get where I want to go is very appealing to me at this point in my life.

Exactly. If it stays cool (which it should at least a few months) I can easily walk to work. May get like a scooter or something, dunno, so don't have to bust out the Expedition every day.

Congratulations RSB.

For me, the ideal situation is to have a place in the city and a place far out of the city. Having to choose one, I'll take the one in.

Exactly.

And even though it's a little smaller than what I'm used to, I'm only home about 1-3 hours (awake) on a good day, during the week and a lot of weekends. Definitely works.
