Members Funkee1
This is a rumor, and has been flatly denied on several SCi- Fi fan pages, but so was a JJ Abrams Star Trek, and a Live action Speed Racer movie, but those actually happened......... Rumor has it that George Lucas is planning to rejigger the existing Star Wars films so they can be shown in 3D, like James Cameron's Avatar. Depending on that success, he may launch a new trilogy with the new technology. Before you facepalm, and post "Epic Fail!' pictures, check this out: Apparently, if he does this, he will not write or direct. Only produce. Steven Spielberg will direct one, and directors as varied as Francis Ford Coppola and David S. Goyer will direct the remaining two! Goyer allegedly has been contacted to write! I cannot find links to post for this, but keep a watch out..........
Members Renfield
IIRC there was an original storyline (and subsequently books) to occupy 9 movies in total. They've not done episodes 7-9 as of yet in other words.

I mean the guy who brought us the classics in the first place is the last person on the planet we want to ever get near it again. :poke: And Han shot first, dammit!!! Members NeonVomit
Yeah, there are supposedly another 3 chapters of the story, there were meant to be 3 trilogies. I wouldn't be too pissed with Lucas producing or co-writing, but keep him the hell away from directing and leave that to people who know it well. A Spielberg or Coppola Star Wars would be interesting, for sure.

I think Ep 3 is better than Return of the Jedi. It's a hell of a lot faster, anyway. :flamesuit:

I didn't mind the prequels as much as many people, but I do think they spent more time on making it look pretty and little time on story/character development. I was let down there. They were damn entertaining though from a 'bubblegum for the mind' point of view.

Return of the Jedi was the beginning of trying to become kid-friendly with those stupid ewoks.

I saw Ep2 very close to release and the theater was packed. Much hootin and hollerin ensued when Yoda went from a hobbling little muppet to Kick Arse Chuck Norris in .05 seconds

If more than 50% of you like it, I'll go to a theater to see it. I think a Ridley Scott Star Wars would be good.
