Members tele60
I host a Blues Jam / Open Mic. I supply a Bass and a Bass Amp ( Peavey Combo 300 ) Great Amp but I am tired of lifting 88 pounds of awkward amp. I need a best bang for the buck 12" Combo. Let me hear what works and what don't. Thank You in advance. Tele60
Members ezstep
There are many good-to-great smaller, 12" combos with very good tones. Unfortunately, I doubt that you will find one that gets as loud as the amp you have now. If you have easy access to plug into the p.a. system, then go for it. If not, well, think about it. Members JohnnyNacho
I would try this: http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/GenzBenz-Shuttle-600-Watt-Lightweight-Bass-1x12-Combo?sku=482111 or this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/WalkSct112 or something in the Markbass realm. I own and love the first one, but none of them will disappoint, and should have sufficient volume. Good luck!

Members Tolka
If your budget allows, you might consider this : http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Markbass-CMD-121H-300500W-1x12-Bass-Combo?sku=481795 Weighs under 40 lbs, but with plenty of power. Members bassplayer7770
I believe the new TKO and TNT combos from Peavey are supposed to be lighter. They also appear to be rather powerful, and I think they look cool too. http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Peavey-Tour-TKO-115-400W-1x15-Bass-Combo-Amp?sku=582111 EDIT: Er, it looks like they still haven't been released... Members bassplayer7770
Some of Carvin's more powerful combos start at $600, but they only have 115 and 210 configs... http://www.carvinguitars.com/bassamps/basscombos.php
Members 78pbass
Truth is, that old Peavey is a tank and loud. If you go smaller and lighter, chances are that someone will try to get more volume out of it and risk damaging it in the process. Your monstrosity is the perfect amp for those environments. Members zachoff
Never played one, but something like this might work... 55lbs and 600W http://www.ampeg.com/products/bassamp/ba600/210.html Woah, never mind...
