Picked up a Squier Affinity P tonight. I have to say it's better than the MIM P I played last weekend. Crazy. As someone with two old Squiers, one that sucks and one that doesn't, this one was awseome! Surprise!

Out of curiosity, where was it made? Indonesia?

Yup. Not sure on the year. One of my daughter's friends had a birthday party at a place around here that's part rehearsal space, part studio, and part lesson place tonight. It was pretty cool & they had some guitars and basses laying around. Played a POS Hondo too. I could almost fit my pinky under the string at the 12th.

One of my basses is an Indonesian Squire P, and I love it. I probably play around with it more than my more expensive basses. Not sure that if I ever gigged, I'd use it. After hanging on this forum so long, I think it would probably burst into flames.

I didn't plug it in, but the neck and fretwork was awesome... Almost on par with the American P I played last week, but not quite there. Still better than the MIM P, which I didn't really expect.

Ha, I gigged with a crappy early 90s Squier for a few years. If yours is anything like the one I played tonight you could gig with it for sure provided the electronics are solid.

I've had the bass for quite a while. Other than needing a setup after a couple years it plays and sounds great to me. No defects and the pickups sound good to me. It has D'Addario Chromes flatwounds on it and the tone's like butter.:idk:
