Members RSBro
I asked this on TB also, but wanted to troll you guys here also. I'm thinking of either having my NS2 refin'd in all glossy, shiny black, or something special... I've also confirmed Spector can get me chrome or black hardware, which I'm thinking of going with if I get a custom job done. Price isn't really an option as I want this done right. Members dDigitalPimp
what ever you do, dont go for an entry level finish id stick with the black if you are going to do a refin, be true to the original. that is a sweet bass. Members fretless
That is vintage , could hurt the value , keep it stock . Isn't it black ? It could be buffed out nicely I bet .

I'm definitely considering it, but having seen some of those certain silverburst finishes, I almost can't help myself... I think it'd look awesome on that bass. It's got a good bit of rash on the "butt" of the bass, where it looks as though when it was in the studio for however many years, they were sans guitar stand, and just kinda left it there... It's definitely not a closet queen, but the face and rear of the bass are darn near perfect.
Members fretless
I vote for keeping it stock and perhaps a nice buff job .

Members bluedogaudio
I wouldn't refinish that bass. No way. No how.
Members RSBro
Gah! I think in the end you guys are right... I'll just get an Epi T-Bird w/ that finish and be done with it. This is one fine example of Stu's early work and it's too much of an icon to muff it up with my current tastes...
Members bassplayer7770
OTOH, how cool would that bass look with a Foam Green finish? http://www.wilkinsguitars.com/colorchart1.html

Members RSBro
A 'bird in silverburst would be the right answer! They're like $299... That refin job would easily be double that for a good'n.

Members MTMTEX
Well thats what I would do is take a bass that very well might be worth 5 figures at some point, run it over to Maaco and let them shot some krylon on it! Jesus maybe for a few extra bucks they could make it an EVH or something! Just send me the damn thing so I can make sure it doesn't end up with a bunch of Misfits stickers on it or something!! I know where you live mother{censored}er! *ok not really but if you lay so much as fingernail polish on a nick in that thing I will find out and take whatever actions deemed necessary* So really I don't have an opinion either way. Members Super Bass
See if you can get someone to repair the damaged area without a complete refin. Also buffing up the finish to remove scratches and swirl marks if possible. I'm doing some work (now and again) on an SB resto. I've repaired some chips that were down to the wood and they look almost invisible now.
Members MTMTEX
$1700.00 for a high roller such as yourself is chump change. I would go for it.
